This release marks Joshua De Silva’s first venture as a recording artist.

From New Orleans and funk grooves to intimate, unaccompanied solo guitar tracks, Stride brings a fresh, jazz flavoured, instrumental take on classic hymns like “How Great Thou Art” and “Jesus Loves Me.”

Driving these arrangements is Josh’s particular style of playing guitar and bass parts simultaneously on one guitar, voiced by his seven string Brazilian classical, and his new hybrid electric guitar. The closing track also features him playing a sax solo and MIDI sequencing.

Joining Josh on the EP are the talents of his family: Mariah on drums, with Brian, Deva and Joel on wind instruments. Joel also plays a clarinet solo on the opening song.

Whether painting colourful instrumentals or inviting a reflective atmosphere of worship, Stride brings something different for everyone.
